Dong Fang Offshore and Invest in Rogaland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the potential establishment of an operational base for the Taiwanese company in the Haugesund area. Invest in Rogaland will support DFO in this process.
Dong Fang Offshore is Taiwan’s leading offshore marine contractor.
Rogaland County Mayor Ole Ueland and DFO CEO Polin Chen signed the MoU during the Taiwan-Norway Energy Dialogue in Stavanger. The Dialogue was part of a visit to Rogaland by a Taiwanese offshore wind delegation during ONS, with representatives from MIRDC Taiwan, Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (SOIC) and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), academia and companies in the energy and offshore wind sectors from both countries.
Tore Meinert, Advisor at Invest in Rogaland, said:
“This is exactly what our work is about: connecting international companies with the expertise, industrial capabilities and business opportunities in Rogaland, and turning those connections into concrete results. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Dong Fang Offshore and supporting them in their next steps.”
